Preschool Curriculum
Curriculum development
The most important aspects of our curriculum are:
Our curriculum is play based, and it is developmentally appropriate.
It supports the child’s spiritual, physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.
It meets the standards that help the child transition into their next level of learning and the kindergarten environment.
Classroom Learning
During classroom time, we have opening activities, share time, table top manipulatives, science activities, music and movement, read stories and our bible curriculum.
We encourage small motor development through blocks, puzzles, learning games, toys and art activities such as cutting, gluing, tearing, coloring, painting and play dough activities.
Outdoor Classroom
Each week different outdoor activities are set up for the children during their scheduled outdoor recess time and during afternoon extended care.
We encourage large motor development through play yard climbing equipment, tricycle, balls, toys and other equipment.
On-Site Field Trips and Events
Special Programs brought to the preschool are scheduled throughout the year.
Extracurricular Activities
Joy Lutheran Preschool is pleased to partner with local businesses to offer our students extracurricular classes for an additional fee.
