Early Childhood Philosophy

Joy Lutheran Preschool involves the congregation, the community, our staff, the family and the child.  As staff of Joy Lutheran we know that “Young children are gifts from God.” (Psalms 127:3)  Our program is designed to provide opportunities for learning in a play-based environment so that children may “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”  (2 Peter 3:18) Children learn best through play, exploration, and discovery. We create a warm, accepting, and loving Christ-centered environment where activities are child directed and well-balanced, as well as developmentally and age appropriate.

Also, as Christian educators of young children, we realize that God is using us as His instruments to nurture a growing understanding of His love in the lives of these children. This provides us an opportunity to be involved with families of these young children, especially in their own spiritual growth, by sharing the good news about Jesus our Savior.
